Bio

The DownShifters are a two-man trio playing blues and roots music. Using guitar, banjo, harmonica, bass and foot drums they perform original songs inspired by good old american music traditions – from acoustic/electric delta blues to banjo based old-time.

In 2022 they were nominated for a Danish Music Award (the Danish “Grammys”) in the “Out of the blue”-category. With the release of their first album “Blues/Roots/Wellness” in 2025, The DownShifters were again nominated for a Danish Music Award – this time for “Blues Album Of The Year”.

Kasper Bjerre – Bass, vocals and foot-drums
Sune Bjerre – Guitar, banjo, vocals and harmonica

The DownShifters possess great musicality, wit, a sense of a good song and a good grasp of the soul of blues and roots music. A live concert with this dynamic and capable duo is definitely worth the effort and afterwards you always leave in good spirits.”
