Bio

The DownShifters are a two-man trio playing blues and roots music. Using guitar, banjo, harmonica, bass and foot drums they perform original songs inspired by good old american music traditions – from acoustic/electric delta blues to banjo based old-time.

The duo was formed in 2020 by brothers Sune and Kasper Bjerre – both with a history on the Danish blues scene. In 2022 they were nominated for a Danish Music Award in the blues-category. During the ‘10s they were part of the band ‘The Cornfeds’, winning the Danish Blues Challenge and playing both national and European venues.

Quotes

The DownShifters possess great musicality, wit, a sense of a good song and a good grasp of the soul of blues and roots music. A live concert with this dynamic and capable duo is definitely worth the effort and afterwards you always leave in good spirits.”
